Privacy Policy

Updated July 2026

This policy covers Legacy Open Gym, the check-in and team-assignment system used at Legacy Volleyball open gym (lgcyopen.com). It explains what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.

SMS / Mobile message policy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never sold, rented, or shared with any third party or affiliate for any purpose.

What we collect

When you check in at open gym, you enter the following yourself:

We use these solely to build balanced teams for that night and to text you your court assignment.

How we use your phone number

Your phone number is used for two things only: to recognize you when you check in again, and to send you a text message with your court and team assignment for that night's session. That's it.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your phone number or personal information with any third party, for marketing or for any other purpose. Your number is not shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any affiliated business. Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties.

Text messages

You opt in by entering your phone number on the check-in form, where a notice below the field tells you that checking in means you agree to receive a text with your court assignment. Consent is not a condition of playing — you can play without giving a number and simply check the gym TV or ask staff for your court.

Who can see your data

Only Legacy Volleyball open gym staff, and only for running the session. Data is stored in our own database on Cloudflare's infrastructure. We use Twilio strictly as the carrier that delivers the text message.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your check-in record so the system remembers you and improves team balance over time. You may ask us to delete your record and phone number at any time by emailing us — we'll remove it.

Players of all ages

Open gym is open to players of all ages. We ask for age because it genuinely affects how we balance teams — a 14-year-old and a 45-year-old can play at the same skill level in different ways, and the team builder accounts for that.

If a player is under 16, we ask that a parent or guardian check them in and provide the phone number, so that any text about that night's court goes to the adult responsible for them rather than to the child. A parent may ask us to remove their child's information at any time by emailing us, and we'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
